Comment. The main cables of the parking system drive are assembled with an equalizer; the assembly is completely replaced in the event of a malfunction of one of the elements.
1. We prepare the car for work (see «Preparing the car for maintenance and repair»),
2. Loosen the adjusting nut (see «Parking brake - adjustment»).
3. With a slotted screwdriver, remove the tips of the main cables from the connectors (see above).
4. Remove the intermediate muffler from the suspension pads (see «Intermediate silencer - replacement»).
5. Using a 10 mm socket wrench, unscrew the nuts securing the heat-insulating casing located above the intermediate muffler:
- 3 front nuts...
- two nuts in the middle of the casing...
- two rear nuts
6. Remove the heat-insulating casing.
7. Use pliers to turn the connector of the front (central) cable by 90°.
8. Remove the front cable from the equalizer.
9. We remove both main cables from the front bracket, pulling them back a little.
10. Disconnect the right main cable from the body bracket.
11. Next, disconnect the right main cable from the mount on the fuel tank.
12. Disconnect the left main cable from the body bracket.
13. Next, disconnect the left main cable from the bracket on the rear suspension beam.
14. We pull forward the tip of the left cable from the support bracket on the rear suspension beam.
15. In the same way, we disconnect the right main cable from the bracket on the rear suspension beam and pull it forward from the support bracket.
16. Completely remove the right and left main cables assembly with the equalizer plate.
17. Install the parts in reverse order.
18. Adjust the parking brake drive (see «Parking brake - adjustment»).
