Replacing the oil filter of the rear differential clutch of the propeller shaft (Opel Insignia A)

1. Remove the propeller shaft.

2. Lower the differential clutch assembly slightly to gain access to the cover. Be careful not to damage the rear drive shafts.

3. Loosen the ten bolts (1) of the differential clutch cover.

Note: Tightening torque: 6 Nm.


Note: Tightening torque: 6 Nm.


Caution: The differential clutch oil is under very high pressure. To prevent injury, wait at least ten minutes before removing any differential clutch components.


4. Remove the differential clutch cover (2) with the gasket (3).

Note: Use a new gasket when installing.


5. Remove the oil filter (6) and replace it with a new one.

6. Assembly is carried out in reverse order.

7. Fill the differential clutch with fresh working fluid.

Note.
  • Tightening torque of the filler plug (4): 14 Nm.
  • Replace the seal (5) of the filler plug with a new one.
