Warning! Air must be removed from the fuel system using a bleeding device (external fuel pump) KM-948 (1) together with adapters KM-948-120-1 (2) and KM-948-120-2(3).
The KM-948 bleeding device together with adapters should be used to remove air after any maintenance of the fuel system, for example, after replacing the fuel filter or completely running out of fuel.
Prerequisites:
- there must be at least 5 liters of fuel in the fuel tank;
- all fuel lines must be in good condition and securely connected;
- the battery is charged.
Warning: Observe safety precautions when servicing the fuel system.
Release the clamps and remove the air duct connecting the charge air cooler to the intake manifold.
Release the clamp on the fuel return hose (2) and remove the hose from the metal tube (1). Collect any leaking fuel.
Install the adapter (5) on the metal tube coming from the high-pressure fuel pump, connect the inlet hose of the KM-948 bleeding device (3) and secure with a clamp, while observing the direction of fuel flow indicated by the arrows on the KM-948 bleeding device.
Install the KM-948-120-2 adapter (4) on the fuel return hose to the fuel tank, connect the outlet hose of the KM-948 bleeding device (3) and secure with a clamp.
Connect the KM-948 bleeding device to the battery. Perform a pre-bleed for 3 minutes with the ignition on, but do not attempt to start the engine.
Continue bleeding by engaging the starter for about 40 seconds. If the engine does not start, repeat the procedure after about 20 seconds.
Let the engine idle (1-3 minutes), without disconnecting the KM-948 bleeding device.
Turn off the engine and disconnect the KM-948 bleeding device.
Connect the fuel return hose.
Start the engine and check the fuel system for leaks.
