Rear Door (Estate) — Removal and Installation (Opel Ascona C)

1. Open the rear door and remove the ten screws that secure the bottom and side parts of the interior panel.

2. Carefully remove the inner panel by releasing the latches located at the top of the panel.

3. Disconnect the speaker wires (if they are installed), and remove the interior panel from the vehicle.

4. Disconnect the electrical wiring plugs from the electrical appliances installed on the rear door, as well as the rear window washer hose from the nozzle. Remove the electrical wiring and hose from the rear door.

5. Have an assistant support the weight of the tailgate. Disconnect the support pillars from the rear door by releasing them from the ball-shaped mountings.

6. While still supporting the weight of the tailgate, press down on the hinge pin stops and pull the pins out. Remove the rear door.

7. Reinstall by performing the above steps in reverse order.
