Checking and, if necessary, adjusting the fast idle speed is required when the engine is unstable with an increase in speed or when a cold engine does not pick up speed well. In addition, such an adjustment is necessary after disassembling the carburetor.
Connect tachometer (as a rule, it is connected to pins 1 and 15 of the ignition coil).
Check the idle speed and the CO content in the exhaust gases of a warm engine. The engine oil temperature must be at least 70°C.
Remove air filter.
Stop engine.
Set the adjusting screw 3 to the second step of the washer 4 (see fig.C0214).
Start the engine without depressing the accelerator pedal.
Determine the maximum number of engine revolutions on the tachometer and compare with the value from the specification.
If necessary, adjust the maximum speed with screw 3 with the air damper fully open.
Install the air filter.
