Removal and installation the carburetor cover 2E3 (Opel Vectra A)

The carburetor cover can be removed without removing the carburetor itself.

Removal



Remove the air filter.

Disconnect the wire from the starting device.

Remove the starting device.

Disconnect the fuel hose from the carburetor cover.

Disconnect the choke return vacuum hose from the carburetor body.

Attention! Do not disconnect the hose from the pneumatic drive!

Remove holder 2 (see fig.).

Loosen the four screws securing the carburetor cover (see fig.C4562).

Loosen the three screws securing the carburetor (top and center). Leave the carburetor on the intake manifold.

Remove the carburetor cover.

Installation



Place a new gasket on the carburetor body.

Replace the carburetor cover and secure it with screws.



Attention! Pay attention to the different lengths of the screws. Screws 3 and 4 (Fig. C4562) are 35 mm long, and screws 5 and 6 are 25 mm long.

Attention! When installing the carburetor cover, do not forget about the spring (see arrow in fig.).


Energy consumers (radio, lighting, etc.) must be turned off.

Install and secure the starting device.

Connect the wire to the cover.

Connect the fuel hose and secure it with a clamp.

Connect the pneumatic drive vacuum hose.

Install the air filter.

Check the idle speed and CO content in the exhaust gases, adjust if necessary.
