Removal
Remove the engine from the car (see the relevant chapter).
Remove the clutch housing with the pressure plate and the driven clutch disc (see the relevant chapter).
Remove the flywheel (see the relevant chapter).
Place a container under the oil drain plug to collect any leaking oil. Remove the plug and drain the engine oil from the engine.
Disconnect the connectors from the oil level sensor (1) and oil temperature sensor (2).

Remove the retaining ring from the oil level sensor.
Remove the oil level sensor from the oil pan.
Remove the lower section of the oil pan.
Remove the bolt securing the oil level indicator guide tube to the support bracket.
Remove the bolts and remove the upper section of the oil pan from the cylinder block.
Installation
Clean the mating surfaces of the cylinder block and the upper section of the oil pan.
Apply a bead of sealant (arrows) to the joints of the timing case and the rear crankshaft bearing cover with the cylinder block.

Install the upper section of the oil pan with a new gasket onto the cylinder block.
Tighten the upper oil pan mounting bolts evenly to 20 N·m.
Secure the oil level indicator guide tube to the support bracket using the bolt.
Install the oil level sensor into the lower section of the oil pan and secure with the retaining ring.
Install the lower section of the oil pan with a new gasket.

Connect the connectors to the oil level sensor and oil temperature sensor.
Screw the oil drain plug with a new seal into the oil pan and tighten it to a torque of 10 N·m.
Install the flywheel (see the relevant chapter).
Install the clutch housing with the pressure plate and the driven clutch disc (see the relevant chapter).
Fill the engine with the required amount of the required motor oil.
