Lower section of the oil pan (Opel Frontera B)

Removal



Remove the lower engine compartment protection.

Place a container under the oil drain plug to collect any leaking oil. Remove the plug and drain the engine oil from the engine.

Disconnect the connectors from the oil level sensor (1) and oil temperature sensor (2).

Disconnect the connectors from the oil level sensor (1) and oil temperature sensor (2).


Remove the front suspension beam.

Remove the retaining ring from the oil level sensor.

Remove the oil level sensor from the oil pan.

Remove the lower section of the oil pan.

Remove the bolts and remove the oil pickup tube with the mesh filter from the oil pan.

Remove the bolts and remove the oil pickup tube with the mesh filter from the oil pan.


Installation



Clean the mating surfaces of the lower and upper sections of the oil pan.

Install the oil pick-up tube with the mesh filter on the oil pan and secure with bolts, tightening them to a torque of 8 N·m.



Install the oil level sensor into the lower section of the oil pan and secure with the retaining ring.

Install the lower section of the oil pan with a new gasket.

Install the front suspension beam.

Connect the connectors to the oil level sensor and oil temperature sensor.

Screw the oil drain plug with a new seal into the oil pan and tighten it to a torque of 10 N·m.

Fill the engine with the required amount of the required motor oil.

Install the lower engine compartment protection.
