Intercooler for charge air (Opel Frontera B)

Removal

Release the two clips and remove the front trim panel, remove the 4 bolts and remove the inner wing trim from the chassis frame. On a vehicle with fog lights, disconnect the connectors from the headlights.

Remove the central screw securing the radiator grille, then release the grille from the 8 clips and remove it from the vehicle.



Remove the 3 bolts and hood lock support beam, then disconnect the wires going to the air temperature sensor and horn.

Remove the air conditioning condenser (see the relevant chapter).

Disconnect hoses (1 and 6) from the intercooler.



Remove the upper support brackets and rubber mounts (2 and 5).

Remove the intercooler radiator from the lower support brackets (3).

Installation

Install the intercooler radiator to the lower support brackets.

Install the upper support brackets and rubber mounts, then tighten the bracket mounting bolts to 11 N·m.

Connect hoses (1 and 6) to the intercooler.

Install the air conditioning condenser (see the relevant chapter).

Install the hood lock support beam and secure it with bolts, then connect the wires going to the air temperature sensor and horn.

Install the inner wing trim to the chassis frame and secure it with 4 bolts, tightening them to a torque of 130 N·m. On a vehicle with fog lights, connect the connectors to the headlights.

Install the radiator grille and secure it with 8 clips and the center screw.
