Towing a car (Opel Frontera B)

Your vehicle may be towed by another vehicle using a cable or a special towing vehicle (tractor). Towing regulations may vary from country to country, so it is recommended that you follow the regulations of the country you are in.

When towing a vehicle on dirt roads, you must know and observe the following:

• Towing through mud will require more power from the vehicle than towing on paved roads.
• The tow rope is attached to the towing eye, not to the vehicle axle.
• It is desirable that the speed of the towing and towed vehicles be approximately the same to avoid excessive wheel slippage.

Make sure no one is near the rope while towing. If the cable breaks it can cause serious injury.

• Attach the towing rope to the eye located under the front bumper. Never attach the towing rope to any part of the front suspension.
• Turn the ignition switch key to the ACC or ON position.
• Turn on the hazard warning lights.
• Place the gear shift lever in neutral position.
• Please note that when towing a vehicle with the engine off, the brake booster and power steering will not function.
• During towing, reliable communication must be ensured between the drivers of both vehicles and the movement must take place at a low speed. Avoid sudden starts and sudden braking, which will cause the vehicles to jerk and may collide.

Warnings:

• When towing a vehicle, choose level roads without hills, as if the cable breaks, the body may be damaged.
• Do not try to pull a stuck vehicle out of a ditch, as this will prevent the towing rope from being horizontal.

When towing another vehicle, attach the towing rope to the eye located under the rear bumper. Never attach the towing rope to the rear axle.
