Changing the oil in the front axle housing (Opel Frontera B)

Raise the vehicle and support it on supports.

Remove 2 bolts and 2 nuts and remove the lower protection (1) of the engine compartment.



Remove 6 bolts and gearbox guard (1).



Place a suitable container under the front axle gearbox.

Unscrew the oil drain bolt (1), oil filler plug (2) and drain the oil into a container. When disposing of drained oil, observe environmental requirements.





Clean the bolt threads from locking compound.

Apply locking compound to the bolt threads, screw it into the axle housing and tighten to 25 Nm.

Fill the front axle gearbox with oil until the oil level reaches the lower edge of the threaded hole for the oil filler plug.

Install a new sealing washer on the oil filler plug, screw the plug into the crankcase and tighten it to a torque of 78 N·m.

Install the gearbox guard and secure it with 6 bolts.

Install the lower engine compartment protection and secure it with 2 bolts and 2 nuts.

Lower the car.
