Luggage compartment door: 1 - outer door handle; 2 - drive; 3 - glass lock; 4 - double-arm lever; 5 - door hinges; 6 - door opening limiter; 7 - Rear window wiper motor; 8 - trapezoidal retainer; 9 - lock cylinder; 10 - lock.


Disassembly



Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal.

Remove the spare tire from the tailgate.

Open the trunk door.

Remove the 2 bolts and use a wide-blade screwdriver to separate the trim from the trunk lid.

Remove the dust and moisture protection film from the luggage compartment door.

Disconnect the door wire harness connector located inside the rear pillar.

Disconnect the rear window washer fluid supply hose from the connection located inside the rear pillar.



Remove the drive (2).

Remove the 3 screws securing the glass lock to the trunk lid.

Remove the 3 screws securing the glass lock to the trunk lid.


Disconnect the rod and remove the glass lock from the tailgate.

Disconnect the rod from the lock cylinder (9) of the luggage compartment lid.

On a 5-door vehicle, remove the screw and the anti-theft alarm switch from the lock cylinder. Remove the clamp and remove the lock cylinder from the tailgate.

On a 5-door vehicle, remove the screw and the anti-theft alarm switch from the lock cylinder.…


On a 3-door vehicle, remove the clip and pull the lock cylinder out of the tailgate.

On a 3-door vehicle, remove the clip and pull the lock cylinder out of the tailgate.


Remove the 3 screws securing the lock to the trunk lid.



Remove the 3 screws securing the lock to the trunk lid.


Disconnect the rod and remove the lock assembly from the tailgate.

Remove the 4 bolts securing the outer handle to the luggage compartment door.

Disconnect the rod and remove the outer handle from the tailgate.

Disconnect the rod and remove the outer handle from the tailgate.


Remove the screws and remove the trapezoidal retainer (8).

Loosen the nuts and remove the double-arm lever (4) from the luggage compartment door.

Remove the rear window wiper motor (7) (see the relevant chapter).

Remove the wiring harness from the tailgate.

Loosen the bolts and remove the opening limiter (6) from the luggage compartment door.

If necessary, use a marker to mark the position of the door hinges. While an assistant supports the door, remove the bolts securing the door hinges (5) to the body and remove the door from the vehicle.



Installation



If removed, reinstall the door and secure the door hinges with bolts, tightening them to 34 Nm.

Install the opening limiter (6) on the luggage compartment door and secure with bolts, tightening them to a torque of 34 Nm.

Install the wiring harness to the tailgate.

Install the rear window wiper motor (7) to the tailgate.

Install the double-arm lever (4) on the luggage compartment door.

Install the trapezoidal retainer (8) on the luggage compartment door and secure it with bolts.

Connect the rod to the outside handle of the luggage compartment door.

Install the handle onto the trunk door and secure with 4 bolts.

Connect the rod to the tailgate lock.

Install the lock on the trunk door and secure with 3 screws.

Install the lock cylinder into the tailgate and secure it with the clamp.

On a 5-door vehicle, install the anti-theft alarm switch onto the lock cylinder and secure it with the screw.

Connect the rod to the trunk lid lock cylinder.

Connect the rod to the tailgate glass lock.

Install the glass lock onto the trunk lid and secure with 3 bolts.

Install the drive (2).

Connect the door wire harness connector located inside the rear pillar.

Connect the rear window washer fluid supply hose to the connection located inside the rear pillar.

Install a dust and moisture protection film on the luggage compartment door.

Install the door trim onto the luggage compartment door, make sure the trim is securely fastened with the clips and secure with 2 bolts.

Adjust the position of the tailgate (see the relevant chapter).



Install the spare tire on the tailgate.

Connect the cable to the negative terminal of the battery.
