Rear window (Opel Frontera B)

Removal



Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal.

Disconnect the connector from the rear window defroster.

Disconnect the connector from the rear window defroster.


Open the tailgate glass and use a screwdriver as a lever to release the spring clips securing the gas-filled struts to the ball joints on the rear window. While supporting the glass, disconnect the upper parts of the gas-filled struts from the glass ball joints.

If necessary, unscrew 2 bolts and remove the gas-filled struts from the car body.

Unscrew 4 nuts (1) and remove the rear window.



Installation



Install the rear window on the car and secure with 4 nuts.

Note: The right gas strut is marked R, and the left one is marked L.


Install the gas-filled struts on the body and secure them with bolts, tightening them to a torque of 6 N·m. Re-tighten the bolts after one hour.

Install the upper parts of the gas-filled struts onto the glass ball joints.

Connect the connector to the rear window defroster.

Connect the cable to the negative terminal of the battery.

Adjust the position of the rear window and the lock strike plate.

Loosen the rear window hinge mounting nuts and, by moving the glass, adjust its position so that the gaps between the side ends of the glass and the body panels (A) are 8.7 mm, and between the lower part of the glass and the luggage compartment door (B) - 11.4 mm.

Loosen the strike plate mounting screws (1) and use a plastic hammer to move the strike plate to a position where the strike plate engages correctly with the lock, then tighten the strike plate mounting screws.
