Passenger and Driver Restriction System
System components include 3-point safety belts and driver and passenger airbags (if provided).
At the same time, depending on the severity of the overload accident determined, the system operates in two stages. At the first stage, the seat belts are locked, which ensures that the driver and passengers are fixed in their seats. Further, with a significant frontal overload, the airbag system is activated (if provided), providing additional protection for the driver and front passenger.
Attention! Remember that the presence of airbags in the car does not relieve the driver and front passenger from the need to fasten their seat belts while driving!
Front seat belts
The seats of Opel Frontera vehicles are equipped with three-point safety belts that provide sufficient freedom of movement for the driver and passengers when the car is moving at a constant speed. At the same time, the return device of the inertial type constantly maintains the belts in a taut state, taking out all the excess slack.
At the same time, the inertial return device provides reliable belt locking during heavy braking or frontal frontal impact.
1. To dress, carefully pull the belt out of the retractor and, being careful not to twist it, throw it over your shoulder.
2. Insert the metal clip of the lock into the buckle until it clicks. The seat back must not be tilted too far back. The lap section of the belt should also fit snugly against the body without twisting.
3. For reliable crimping of the body, sharply pull the diagonal section of the belt several times.
4. Bulky clothing interferes with the proper fit of the belt to the body. The strap should not be placed over hard objects in pockets such as pens, keys, glasses, etc. to avoid injury. Also, do not slip cosmetic bags and handbags under the belt.
5. To remove the belt, press the red button on the button buckle. The winding of the belt after the release of the buckle occurs automatically.
Adjusting the height of the upper seat belt anchor
Adjustment must not be made while driving.
1. Slightly pull the belt out of the return device.
2. Tilt the top belt guide up.
3. Adjust the height of the anchor.
4. Release the belt guide and check that the anchor assembly is secure.
The belt should be tightly pressed against the shoulder, without touching the neck area and without restricting the freedom of the hand.
Rear Seat Belts
The rear seat side seating is equipped with three-point seat belts with an automatic retractable inertia type.
5 door models
On 5-door models, it is possible to adjust the height of the upper anchor assembly of the rear seat side seat belts.
The safety of the passenger sitting in the center is provided by a static-type lap belt. The belt layout is shown in the illustration.
Lap belt (5 door models)
Buckles and buckles for side seat belts (A) differ in design from belt buckles (IN).
1. Slip the waist belt over your hips as low as possible.
2. Make sure the belt is not twisted and fasten its buckle. The belt should be tightly pressed against the hips - the palm of the hand should tightly crawl under it.
Instruction. When transporting pregnant women, the lap belt should be placed as low as possible in the pelvic region of the body so that the stomach is not pressed.
3. To adjust the length of the waist belt, press the top of the buckle plate and pull on the free end of the belt.
4. To release the waist belt, press the red button on its buckle.
When not in use, keep the belt buckled.
