Attention: Depressurization of the fuel system must be carried out before servicing any of its components in order to minimize the risk of fuel ignition and personal injury!
2. Remove the protective cap (see resist. illustration) service connector (for checking the operating pressure in the fuel supply system).
2.2. Cap (2) service connector (1) fuel distribution line
3. Install a device to check / reset the working pressure of the fuel system (KM-J-34730-91) (see resist. illustration) and lower the drain hose into a suitable container prepared in advance. Open the drain cock and release the fuel pressure, some fuel will drain into the container.
2.3. Installing the instrument Opel-KM-J-34730-91 (4) to control/relieve pressure in the fuel system: 3. Connecting fitting; 5. Drain hose; 6. Drain tap; A. Service fitting
4. At the end of the operation, disconnect the device and screw on the protective cap.
5. If there is no special device available, you can proceed as follows: make sure that the ignition is turned off, remove the cover of the relay mounting block (see chapter 12) and remove the fuel pump relay from the seat.
6. Start the engine, wait for it to stop spontaneously, then crank the starter for another 5 seconds to be sure that the pressure in the fuel lines is relieved. Switch off the ignition and reinsert the fuel pump relay.
