Note: The procedure for removing/installing and adjusting the bonnet is described below using the Corsa model as an example. On Meriva models, these procedures are performed in a similar way.
Removal
1. Open the hood.
2. Use a marker to mark the position of the hinges on the hood for subsequent installation.
3. Ask an assistant to support the hood. Remove the 4 mounting bolts (2 on each side) (see accompanying illustration), remove the hood and set it aside. Remove the lower hood trim (with appropriate equipment).

4. If necessary, remove the hinges from the body by unscrewing 3 mounting screws on each side (see illustration 13.3).
Note: This will require removing the fairing grille first (see section 6), and on Corsa models there is also an electric windshield wiper motor (see Chapter 12).
Installation
5. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal. If the hinges were removed, lubricate the screws that secure them with a fixing compound (for example, Loctite 243). With the help of an assistant, install the hood, aligning the hinge strips with the marks made during dismantling, then tighten the mounting bolts by hand. Do not forget to install the lower hood trim (if it was filmed).
6. Close the hood, align it in the body opening and adjust the gaps (see below).
7. After completing the adjustment, tighten the bolts to the required torque.
Adjusting the bonnet gaps
8. Loosen the hood mounting bolts (if it has not been removed before).
9. Close the hood and make sure that the gaps between it and the right and left fenders (see Specifications) are the same, make the appropriate adjustments if necessary, then tighten the hood mounting bolts to the required force.
10. Remove the fairing grille (see Section 6). On Corsa models, remove the windshield wiper motor, unscrew the 7 mounting bolts and remove the cover of the body electronics relay mounting block, located under the fairing (see Chapter 12).
11. Loosen the bolts securing the hinges to the body and adjust the height of the hood side by moving the hinges to the required value.

12. Adjust the height of the front edge of the hood by rotating the two damper stops installed on the hood lock holder bar. The hood is adjusted correctly if, when closed, its edges match the height of the edges of the adjacent body elements. Tighten the hinge mounting screws to the required torque.
13. Install and adjust the hood latch (see below). Close the hood and check its position and ease of opening/closing again, repeat the adjustment if necessary.
14. Install the fairing grille and other removed components.
Installing the safety hook and hood latch
Note: When installing a new hood, the hook and spindle must be reinstalled from the old one or purchased separately.
15. Install the safety hook with the spring and riveted axle pin on the hood, while making a notch on the end of the rivet with pliers and expanding it (see accompanying illustration).

16. Fasten the latch assembly to the hood (see accompanying illustration) and adjust the dimension "X", which should not exceed the range of 40-45 mm. The dimension "X" is measured from the surface of the hood to the edge of the washer. Then, holding the latch of the lock with a wrench, tighten the nut with a force of 22 Nm.

17. After completing the adjustment, lubricate the lock pin with universal grease.
