Caution: Do not allow dirt to enter the pump and fuel lines!
Engine Z17DT(H/L)
1. Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery (see Chapter 5).
2. Remove the timing belt (see Chapter 2) and the gear wheel of the pump drive using special devices (see accompanying illustration).
3. Disconnect the fuel pipes from the injection pump assembly (see accompanying illustration).
4. Disconnect the fuel injection pump wiring connector and unscrew the upper mounting bolt (see accompanying illustration), then lift the car on a lift, unscrew the 2 bolts and remove the fuel injection pump from the engine.
5. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
Z19DTH Engine
6. The procedure for removing the fuel injection pump is similar to the same procedure for Z17DT(H/L) engines.
7. The peculiarities consist of the need to disconnect the supply lines from the fuel pressure pulsation damper before removing the pump (see illustration 18.7a) and remove it, as well as using a special puller to remove the fuel injection pump drive gear (see illustration 18.7b).
Z13DTH Engine
8. On this engine, the high-pressure fuel pump is installed in the upper part of the engine on the timing drive side, next to the vacuum pump, and is driven by the intake camshaft.
9. To remove, it is necessary to disconnect all elements blocking access to the high-pressure fuel pump and all supply lines, remove the vacuum pump and then remove the high-pressure fuel pump.
10. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal. It is necessary that when installing the fuel injection pump, the adaptive plate (see accompanying illustration) its drive fits into the groove of the camshaft.
