Attention: Do not allow dirt to enter the path of the power system!
Attention: Remember that nozzles are precision equipment and should be handled with extreme care!
1. Procedures for removing injectors are fundamentally similar for all engines covered in this manual. The following is a description of the operations for removing injectors using the Z17DTH engine as an example. Features of other engines are determined only by the layout of other power plant systems.

2. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery (see chapter 5).
3. Remove the engine cover (see chapter 2) and air cleaner with intake duct (see Section 6).
4. Remove the air ducts located above the nozzles and high pressure fuel lines and blocking access to them.
5. Disconnect the 4 injector wiring connectors (see resist. illustration), unscrew 2 fixing bolts and, using the KM-717 tool, disconnect the electrical wiring connectors from 4 glow plugs.
6. Prepare a container for draining fuel and disconnect the high pressure fuel lines from the fuel distribution line and from the injectors. Attention: After removing the pipelines, to prevent contamination from entering the injection system, immediately close the openings of the line and nozzles with plugs!
7. Separate the oil line (see illustration 17.5) from injectors and fuel distribution lines.
8. Remove the right and left rear lifting eyes and remove the engine oil gauge tube bracket.
9. Remove the covers of the injectors and their fuel supply lines (see resist. illustration).
10. Turn out 11 bolts and remove a cover of camshafts.
11. Turn out bolts of fastening of fastening brackets (see resist. illustration) and remove the injectors from the engine. If, when removing the injectors, any of them will be removed along with the heat-protective sleeve, replace the o-rings on the sleeve and install it in place using the KM-6357 tool.
Installation
12. Installation is made in an order, the return to an order of removal. Do not forget to replace the rubber and copper nozzle gaskets and seals of other removed components. Before tightening the fixing bolts of the injectors, align them with a special tool (see resist. illustration). Fuel line caps must be fitted with markings «UP» up.
