Hazard switch
The alarm is turned on using a push-button switch mounted in the central part of the console section of the car's instrument panel above the central air duct deflectors (see illustrations 15.1 and 17.8). The button is marked with an icon depicting two triangles inscribed in each other. Pressing the alarm button leads to the simultaneous operation of all four direction indicators (and their indicator lights on the vehicle's instrument cluster). The alarm is designed to warn other road users about the forced stop of the car and is also used in other dangerous situations provided for by traffic rules. To turn off the alarm, press the switch button again. The alarm can be activated regardless of whether the key is inserted in the ignition switch and in what position it is turned.
Note: When one of the airbags deploys, the alarm is activated automatically.
Single lock master switch
The main single lock switch is mounted in the console part of the instrument panel above the central air vents to the right of the alarm switch (see illustration 3.1).
See Section 8 for more information on single lock functions.
Sport mode switch (SPORT)
SPORT activation button (with appropriate equipment) built into the console part of the instrument panel above the central air vents to the left of the alarm switch (see illustration 17.9).
This mode is activated by briefly pressing the button - the LED built into the button should light up. In addition, the corresponding indicator will light up on the display for the selected transmission mode.
Mode deactivation «SPORT» will occur when the same button is pressed again briefly or when the ignition is turned off - the LED built into the button should go out. Button hold «SPORT» pressed for approximately 4 seconds, the ESP system is deactivated (see Section 25) - the sport mode will remain on, the indicator of the deterioration of the road surface (see Section 16) activated permanently. In addition, the transmission mode select display will show «ESPotf». The activation of the anti-skid system will occur when the button is pressed again «SPORT» or the next time the ignition is switched on. Attention: On models equipped with puncture resistant tires (see Chapter 1 Section 5), do not switch off the ESP system with a flat tire! When winter mode is activated, the SPORT mode is automatically deactivated and cannot be activated.
Tire pressure monitoring switch (DDS)
Tire pressure monitoring system, depending on equipment (see Section 27) while driving, continuously monitors the speed of all wheels and the air pressure of 8 tires, allowing you to timely detect an air leak in one or more tires. After correcting the air pressure in the tire, changing the tire or wheel, the system must be initiated by pressing the DDS button (see illustration 17.10), located on the console part of the instrument panel above the central vents, to the left of the alarm switch.
For more information on the operation of the control system, see Section 27.
Parking Assist Switch
The parking assistance system measures the distance from the vehicle to an obstacle from behind and, when approaching an obstacle at a close distance, activates an intermittent sound signal in the passenger compartment - when approaching an obstacle less than 30 cm, the signal buzzer becomes continuous. The system determines the distance using four sensors built into the rear bumper (see illustration 17.11).
Attention: The presence of a parking assistance system does not release you from the obligation to be careful when reversing - under certain conditions, various reflective surfaces of objects or clothing, as well as extraneous sound sources, can create interference in which the system does not react to an obstacle!
On eligible models, the park assist switch button is integrated into the instrument panel console above the center air vents, to the left of the hazard warning switch (see illustration 17.12). When the ignition is turned on, the LED built into the switch button lights up, confirming the functional readiness of the system. The system is activated automatically when reverse gear is engaged, if the ignition is on. After disengaging reverse gear, the system is automatically deactivated.
If the system needs to be deactivated with reverse gear engaged, press the switch button - the LED built into the button should turn off. Press the same button again to activate the system.
Note: On models equipped with a factory-fitted tow hitch, when towing a trailer, the parking assist system will automatically deactivate when the trailer's exterior lighting plug is plugged into the towbar socket.
Attention: Rear carriers, for example for transporting bicycles, installed close to the sensors, may interfere with the functioning of the system!
On models of the corresponding configuration, the front seat cushions are equipped with built-in heating elements, which are activated from individual switches (see illustration 17.13).
To activate the electric heating, it is necessary to press the button of the corresponding switch one or several times - the LEDs built into the switch button should light up, informing about the selected heating intensity mode (depending on the number of button presses).
The operation of the electric heater of each seat is controlled by a temperature-sensitive sensor-switch, which automatically turns on and off the corresponding heating element, maintaining the set temperature. The electric heating system starts to function only when the engine is started.
Attention: People with hypersensitivity of the skin are not recommended for prolonged use of heating when activating heating elements at the highest intensity!
Attention: Do not turn on the electric heaters for a long time, and also if there is no passenger on the seat! Never cover the seats with any heat-insulating coverings (blankets, cushions, slipcovers, etc.) - this can lead to overheating of the heating elements! Do not put hard and heavy objects on the seats, do not pierce the seat cushions with pins or similar objects, this may lead to failure of the heating elements.
Infotainment system operation control panel
See Part D.
Control unit for the functioning of ventilation, heating and air conditioning systems
Control unit for the functioning of ventilation / heating / air conditioning systems (HVAC) is placed at the bottom of the console section of the instrument panel. Detailed information on the block describing the principles of systems management is given in Part D of this Chapter (see Section 18). For the purposes of this subsection, only the heated rear window activation button switch integrated in the HVAC control unit panel is considered.
Button switch for heated rear window
Electric heating is activated by pressing the switch button Shchr with the ignition on. Electric heating allows you to remove condensate, frost, and even light frost from the glass surface. The correct activation of the heating element is confirmed by the operation of the LED built into the button.
Note: On models of the corresponding configuration, the electric heating of the door mirrors is activated simultaneously with the heated rear window.
The heating is turned off by pressing the button again, or automatically, after about 15 minutes after activation by a signal from a special timer - the LED should go out.
Note: On diesel models equipped with a particulate filter, the heated rear window will automatically turn off when the filter is being cleaned.
The filiform mesh of the heating element of the heater is glued to the inner surface of the rear window and requires care in handling - try not to damage the mesh when wiping the glass (wiping should be done only along the heater filaments).
