Direction indicators and alarms
Check fuse 22 first (alarm) and fuse 29 (direction indicators).
If everything is in order here, check each switch to see if it is receiving current. To do this, remove the switches (chapter «Tools and devices»). For the hazard warning switch, current must flow to terminal 6, for the direction indicator switch, to terminal 4 (ignition on).
Are the switches OK? Check: actuate the direction indicators, depending on the direction of the turn, the voltage should be on terminal 9 or 3. Operate the alarm switch: voltage should be measured on terminal 11.
Check if the control pulses and flashes are coming from the multi-timer: press the alarm switch and measure relays K122 and K123 as described below Both relays should be energized between pins 1 and 3.
Next, you need to measure the flashing frequency on contacts 4 of both relays (measurement relative to mass)
In the end, both relays remain as the cause of the malfunction. Check as described in section «Relay test» in chapter «Tools and devices».
