Constant control
When the ignition is on and the horn contact on the steering wheel is pressed, the horn should sound or, when «the best» complete set, horns with a double sound signal. To protect the contacts of the horns, a relay is connected between them. The relay constantly has voltage from terminal 30. In order for there to be an audible signal, the connection to ground is closed through the contact of the horn.
Horn not working
Raise and secure the vehicle.
Unscrew the horn or horns with double horn on the lower right side of the car (under the bumper) from the brackets and disconnect the wire connectors.
Connect an auxiliary wire to each plug connection and connect them respectively to the plus or minus of the battery.
If there is no sound, the horn is defective.

If the tone of the sound is squeaky or the horn is completely silent, it can sometimes be made sound or brought back to life by turning the set screw on the back of the horn.
Open the screw under the casting compound.
After adjustment, seal the screw again water-tight with body sealant.
Tip: Extra fanfare or powerful sound horns need a switching relay. Otherwise, the horn contacts are subjected to excessive stress and the horns cannot sound at their full potential. Buy a set of horns directly from the relay. It also includes an installation manual with a wiring diagram.
