Reverse signal switch — checking, removing and installing (Opel Astra G)

1. The plunger type reverse signal switch is screwed into the upper part of the gearbox housing.

2. Disconnect the connector on the top of the crankcase and check the circuit between the switch terminals. The switch contacts should be closed only when the reverse gear is engaged. Otherwise, check the wiring. If the wiring is OK, replace the switch.

3. Remove the battery and tray. Disconnect the switch connector and unscrew the switch (see photo).



7. Replace the switch gasket when installing.
