1. The reverse signal switch is plunger type, screwed into the top of the transaxle case.
2. Disconnect the connector at the top of the crankcase and check the circuit between the switch terminals. The switch contacts should only be closed when reverse gear is engaged. Otherwise, check the wiring. If the wiring is good, replace the switch.
3. Remove the battery and tray. Disconnect the switch connector and unscrew the switch (see photo).
7. When installing, replace the switch gasket.
