The front and rear wheels rotate on double-row ball bearings, which - installed with long-term grease - last for more than 100,000 km. Defective bearings attract attention by the noise when rotating: if the noise becomes louder on right turns, then most often this means that the left wheel bearing is damaged. The play in the wheel bearing is also the result of wear. This is checked as follows:
Grasp each wheel, one at a time, firmly on the ground, and try to move it across the car
If the bearings are perfect, there will be virtually no "play".
If there is a gap, have your assistant press the brake pedal hard, and then shake the wheel again: if there is no gap, then the wheel bearing is the cause. If, despite this, the gap remains: you need to check the wheel suspension.
With the car raised high, you can also check whether the wheels rotate easily (are there any sounds of friction or grinding?).
Defective wheel bearings must be replaced. There is no possibility to adjust the bearings.
