Measuring wheel alignment (Opel Vectra B)

After a hard touch of the curb, an accident, certain repair work on the front axle suspension or simply in a suspicious case, the wheel alignment angles are measured. But this is done only on an optical stand for checking the alignment of the steering wheels. When measuring, the wheel suspension and steering components should not have too large gaps. Then, consider:

The tire pressure should be the same as that set for the vehicle at full load.

Replace worn tires before measuring.

The rims and sides of the wheels must be in perfect condition.

"Laden" means: both front seats are loaded with 70 kg of cargo and the fuel tank is half full.

Before measuring, vigorously rock the vehicle several times.
