Checking and adjusting the front wheel alignment angles (Opel Kadett E)

Check the air pressure in the tires and bring it up to standard if necessary. Check the condition of the tire treads.

Make sure that the wheel rims are not damaged.

Make sure there is no play in the suspension ball joints.

Place a 70 kg load on each front seat and make sure the fuel tank is half full. "Pump" the car's suspension by applying force from top to bottom, first on the front bumper, then on the rear.

Set the steering to the straight-ahead position as specified in section "Steering".

Check the actual values of the front wheel alignment angles using an optical measuring device.

If necessary, adjust the toe-in by changing the length of the steering rods; in this case, the maximum difference in the length of the rods should not exceed 5 mm.
