Removal and installation
Soch 1.6L engines
1. Relieve the pressure in the fuel system and disconnect the negative terminal from the battery.
2. Loosen the clamp and disconnect the air intake tube from the throttle body cover. Disconnect the hoses from the cover.

3. Unscrew the screws securing the throttle body cover.

4. Remove the cover and O-ring from the top of the throttle body.

5. Release the retaining clips and disconnect the electrical connectors from the throttle potentiometer and idle speed control stepper motor.
6. Remove the fuel supply hose from the side of the throttle body.

7. Disconnect the accelerator linkage from the ball joint on the throttle body.
8. Disconnect the vacuum hoses and crankcase ventilation hoses from the throttle body.

9. Unscrew the nuts securing the throttle body to the intake manifold and remove the throttle body together with the gasket (in the photo - SOCH 1.6L engine).

10. Remove the screws and remove the upper section of the throttle body.
11. Check that the mating surfaces of the throttle body section are clean and dry, install a new gasket, install the upper throttle body section and secure with screws. Apply a thread locking agent to the screw threads before installing the screws.
12. Check that the mating surfaces of the throttle body and intake manifold are clean and dry, install a new gasket and install the throttle body onto the manifold. Apply a locking agent to the threads of the throttle body mounting nuts and gradually tighten the nuts to the specified torque.
13. Connect the hoses and accelerator rod.
14. Connect the fuel supply hose to the throttle body, tightening the nut to the specified torque. Connect the electrical connectors.
15. Install the gasket onto the throttle body upper housing, install the housing in place and secure with screws. Connect the air intake duct and vacuum hoses.
16. Connect the battery.
Doch 1.6L engines
1. Relieve the pressure in the fuel system and remove the negative terminal from the battery.
2. Remove the engine oil filler cap, unscrew the screws and remove the protective cover. Replace the plug.

3. Unscrew the bolts (indicated by arrows) and remove the plastic wiring harness bracket from the rear of the intake manifold.

4. Disconnect the electrical connectors (indicated by arrows) from the oxygen sensor, ignition unit, cleaning valve and other connectors on the left side of the manifold.

5. Remove the nuts securing the ground bus to the cylinder head and manifold and move the plastic bracket away from the manifold.
6. Remove the ignition unit.

7. Remove the purge valve from the left front end of the manifold and disconnect the valve hose from the manifold.

8. Remove the brake booster hose (1) from the intake manifold. Remove the crankcase ventilation hose (2), the fitting of which is located next to the fitting of the brake booster hose.
9. Loosen the clamp and remove the air intake duct from the throttle body.

10. Unscrew the bolts securing the accelerator cable bracket to the manifold. Remove the bracket and remove the accelerator cable from the throttle cam and move it to the side.
11. Remove the bolts and remove the throttle body from the intake manifold.
12. Loosen the union nuts and disconnect the fuel hoses from the fuel line.
13. Rotate the throttle bodies, loosen the clamps and remove the coolant supply hoses from the throttle bodies.
14. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the throttle potentiometer and idle speed control stepper motor, then remove the throttle body from the engine compartment.
15. Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. In this case, it is necessary to adjust the accelerator cable.
Engines 1.8 and 2.0 l
1. Remove the ground cable from the battery.
2. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the engine air temperature sensor and air flow meter.
3. Loosen the clamp and remove the crankcase ventilation hose from the rear of the cylinder head cover.
4. Loosen the clamps and remove the air intake duct from the air cleaner and throttle body.
5. Remove the retaining bracket and separate the accelerator cable from the throttle cam ball joint.
6. Remove the bolts and remove the accelerator cable bracket from the throttle body.
7. Clamp the coolant supply hoses to the rear of the throttle body, loosen the clamps and remove both hoses.
8. Remove the electrical connectors from the throttle potentiometer and idle speed control ball motor.
9. Mark the location and disconnect the hoses from the throttle body, then remove the nuts and remove the throttle body from the intake manifold.
10. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, and it is necessary to adjust the accelerator cable.
