Warning! When working on the fuel system, it is necessary to first relieve the pressure in the system.
SOCH 1.6L Engines
1. Turn off the ignition.

2. Remove the cover from the relay box.

3. Remove the fuel pump relay (purple relay).
4. Run the engine at idle speed until the engine stops.
5. Remove the ground cable from the battery and install the relay into the relay box and close the relay box cover.
DOCH 1.6, 1.8 and 2L engines
On these engines, the fuel system pressure can be relieved using the method described above or as follows.
1. Unscrew the plug from the pressure relief valve and place a suitable container under the valve.

2. On 1.6L engines, the valve is located at the end of the fuel line (indicated by the arrow).

3. On 1.8 and 2.0 L engines, the valve is located on top of the fuel line (indicated by the arrow).

4. Use a screwdriver to press the valve spool, causing fuel to come out, and relieve the pressure in the fuel system.
5. Screw the plug onto the pressure relief valve head.
