Removing
1. Raise and secure the vehicle.
2. Remove the insulating cover of the engine compartment.
3. Remove the radiator.
4. Remove the automatic transmission oil cooler hose with seals.
5. Remove 11 mounting bolts (2) and remove the valve body cover (1).
Note.
- Do not use various tools as leverage to pry off the valve body cover, crankcase, or seals.
- Tap gently with a plastic mallet to separate the valve body cover. Be careful not to damage gearbox parts.
6. Disconnect the electrical connectors of the solenoid valves. The figure shows how to use a screwdriver (1) for disconnecting connectors (2).
7. Disconnect 8 electrical connectors (arrows) solenoid valves.
8. Disconnect the two electrical connectors of the speed sensors (3, 4) and unhook the wiring from the two holders (1, 2).
9. Disconnecting the two connectors (1) from the holders, remove the two speed sensor wires from the valve body.
10. Unscrew the fastening bolt (1), remove the fixing plate (2) and temperature sensor (3).
11. Move solenoid harnesses (1) and speed sensors (2) aside and secure with duct tape (arrows).
12. Unscrew the fastening bolts (1) and remove the cover (2) with gasket (3).
13. Loosen the valve body bolts (arrows) in the specified sequence.
14. Completely remove and discard valve body bolts.
15. Carefully remove the valve body by unhooking the connecting rod (1).
Note. The valve body passages are filled with oil.
Installation
1. Clean contact surfaces (1).
2. Clean the 19 threaded holes in the valve body and valve body cover (arrows).
3. Replace the valve body.
4. Hook up the connecting rod (1).
5. Install, but do not tighten, 6 new valve body bolts.
6. Install cover (2) with new gasket (3), then bait, but do not tighten, two mounting bolts (1).
7. Tighten the 8 valve body bolts in the sequence shown in the figure to a torque of 10 Nm.
8. Install temperature sensor (3).
9. Coat the temperature sensor O-ring with gear oil.
10. Install fixing plate (2) and tighten the temperature sensor bolt (1) torque 10 Nm.
11. Remove tape (arrows) and place the solenoid valve harnesses (1) and speed sensors (2) to your place.
12. Connect two speed sensor connectors (1) to the retainers in the valve body.
13. Hook the harnesses to the two clamps (1, 2) and connect the two electrical connectors of the speed sensors (3, 4).
14. Connect 8 electrical connectors (arrows) solenoid valves.
15. Apply a 3 mm bead of sealant to the valve body cover.
16. Install the valve body cover (2).
17. By hand, install 11 bolts of the valve body cover, having previously applied a fixing compound to their threads.
18. Tighten the valve body cover bolts in sequence to 13 Nm.
19. Install the radiator.
20. Install gearbox oil cooler hoses with seals.
21. Check the gear oil level in the gearbox.
22. Install the insulating cover of the engine compartment.
23. Lower the car.
24. Program and calibrate the control unit using diagnostic equipment.
