Adjusting the selector lever cable (Opel Insignia A)

Note: The selector lever cable adjustment must be performed only when the gearbox and selector are in the "Park" position. Failure to do so does not guarantee correct adjustment of the drive cable.


1. Apply the parking brake and place chocks under the wheels.

2. Remove the selector lever trim cover.

3. Remove the central dashboard carpet.

4. Remove the lower center instrument panel trim. Remove the three clips.

5. Remove the adjusting lock (1) of the selector lever cable.

5. Remove the adjusting lock (1) of the selector lever cable.


6. Remove the battery tray.

7. Make sure the selector lever is in the park position.

8. Make sure that the gearshift lever on the gearbox is in the park position.

9. Lock the selector lever cable adjusting lock.

10. Install all removed parts in reverse order.

11. Check the correct operation of the selector lever in all positions.
