Oil pump — removal and installation (Opel Vectra A)

Removal

1. Except for the changes noted below, the procedure is the same as described for models with overhead camshaft (SOHC).

2. If the engine is not removed from the vehicle, disconnect the oil cooler tube couplings from the oil pump and move the tubes to the side.



3. Remove the intermediate ring from the end of the crankshaft (see illustration).

Installation

4. Apply sealant to the surface of the oil pump where the intermediate ring will fit, then push the ring onto the end of the crankshaft until it contacts the oil pump.

5. The toothed drive belt should be replaced, see details. Chapter 4 and Chapter 5.

6. Do not forget to also restore the connection of the oil radiator pipe with the oil pump, tighten the connecting couplings.
