Power steering hydraulic line — bleeding (Opel Vectra A)

1. Fill the tank up to the "MAX" mark on the level measuring dipstick (the engine is turned off), installed in the filler cap of the tank.

2. Start the engine and bring the fluid level up to the "MAX" mark on the dipstick. Do not allow the reservoir to run empty during the following procedure. An assistant will make the job easier.

3. With the engine idling, slowly turn the steering wheel two or three times approximately 45° left and right of center, then turn the steering wheel from one extreme position to the other twice. Do not hold the wheel at the extreme positions, as this will strain the hydraulic system.

4. Turn off the engine and check the fluid level. The fluid level when warmed up to operating temperature (80°C) should be at the "MAX" mark, and the cold fluid level (20°C) should be at the "MIN" mark. Top up the level to the norm if necessary.
