ABS-2E system
Removal
1. Make sure the ignition is off, then disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
2. The control unit is installed under the cover in the threshold on the passenger side.
3. Remove the three mounting screws and lift the cover off the control unit. Note that two of the three screws are covered with plastic caps.
4. Lift the control unit out of the installation opening, then release the retaining clip and disconnect the unit's wiring connector. Remove the unit (see illustrations).


Installation
5. Perform installation in reverse order.
6. Check that the ABS warning light goes out when the engine is first started after the unit has been removed. Have the underbody system checked by an Opel dealer with the appropriate equipment as soon as possible.
ABS-2EH System
Removal
7. Make sure the ignition is off, then disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
8. Remove the cover from the hydraulic modulator.
9. Disconnect the electromagnetic unit and wire harness connectors.
10. Relays can only be removed from control units that have high covers (see illustration). Remove the electromagnetic block relay and the pump motor (if they are removable). If the faulty control unit has a low cover, replace the unit with the relay assembly.

11. Unscrew the bolts and remove the control unit.
Installation
12. Perform installation in reverse order. See also point 6.
