Heat exchanger and bypass valve (Opel Frontera B)

Removal

Remove the oil filter (see the relevant chapter).

Disconnect the hoses (3) from the heat exchanger (1).



Unscrew the threaded bushing of the oil filter (2) from the heat exchanger.

Remove the heat exchanger (1) from the oil pump.

Using an M10 tap (1), cut a thread in the bypass valve, screw in the M10 bolt and use the bolt to remove the bypass valve from the seat.

Installation

Using a mandrel with a diameter of approximately 15 mm, install a new bypass valve.

Install the heat exchanger with a new seal on the oil pump.

Screw the threaded bushing of the oil filter into the heat exchanger.

Connect the hoses to the heat exchanger.

Install the oil filter (see the relevant chapter).
