Attention: When servicing and performing work on the elements of the cooling system, observe safety precautions (see section 2)! Wait until the engine has completely cooled down before proceeding with the procedure!
1. Empty the cooling system (see Section 3).
Note: Be careful - some coolant may remain in the heat exchanger! Substitute a container to collect liquid or blow out the heat exchanger with compressed air in advance.
2. In the engine compartment, disconnect the supply hoses (see resist. illustration) from the heat exchanger nozzles - pre-mark the hoses to ensure their correct connection during assembly. Note: Branded hoses are equipped with quick connect connectors.
16.2. Hoses (1 and 2) heat exchanger with quick couplings (3)
3. Remove the lower lining of the instrument panel from the side of the front passenger's footwell (see chapter 11).
4. Unlock and remove the air supply hose to the passenger footwell.
5. Remove the fixing brackets for the heat exchanger pipes (see resist. illustration), unscrew the fastening clamp screws and remove the pipes from the heat exchanger.
16.5. Mounting brackets (4 and 5) and screws (6) collars of fastening of branch pipes of the heat exchanger
6. Pull the heat exchanger out of its seat in the air distributor housing and remove it from the vehicle.
7. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. When installing nozzles, use new gaskets.
