Removing
The lever is removed as follows:
1. Loosen the mounting bolt (2) and disconnect the ABS cable from the middle lever.
2. Loosen the mounting bolt (3) and remove the ABS sensor cable connector and holder from the chassis.
3. Loosen the bolt and nut (1) on the bridge and the same bolt and nut on the other side and remove the middle arm.
Installation
When installing the middle arm, keep the following in mind:
Do not allow rubber bushings and associated parts to come into contact with any lubricant.
Tighten the middle arm mounting bolts and nuts after the vehicle is lowered onto the wheels under normal load to ensure correct preload on the bushings. Both bolts and both nuts have the same tightening torque.
The middle lever is installed as follows:
1. Connect the arm to the axle and chassis and insert the bolts. Keep in mind that the bracket on the arm points to the right side of the vehicle.
2. Attach the ABS sensor cable plug and holder to the chassis and the sensor cable to the middle arm. The tightening torque of the mounting bolts is 26 Nm.
3. Lower the vehicle onto the wheels and tighten both lever connections to 165 Nm.
Replacing the bushings of the middle and trailing arms of the suspension
For replacement, the old bushings are pressed out, and the new ones are pressed in. It is recommended to take the levers to replace the bushings in a car workshop.
