The details of the middle arm mounting are shown in the illustration.

Removal

The lever is removed as follows:

1. Loosen the mounting bolt (2) and disconnect the ABS cable from the middle lever.

2. Loosen the mounting bolt (3) and remove the plug and the ABS sensor cable holder from the chassis.

3. Unscrew the bolt and nut (1) on the bridge and the same bolt and nut on the other side and remove the middle lever.

Installation

When installing the middle arm, keep the following in mind:

(Information taken from the website: www.opelbook.ru)

Do not allow rubber bushings and associated parts to come into contact with any lubricant.

Tighten the center arm mounting bolts and nuts after lowering the vehicle onto its wheels under normal load, which will ensure the correct preload of the bushings. Both bolts and both nuts have the same tightening torque.

The middle lever is installed as follows:

1. Connect the lever to the bridge and chassis and insert the bolts. Note that the bracket on the lever points to the right side of the vehicle.

2. Secure the ABS sensor cable plug and holder to the chassis and the sensor cable to the center arm. The tightening torque of the mounting bolts is 26 Nm.

3. Lower the vehicle onto its wheels and tighten both lever connections to 165 Nm.

Replacing the bushings of the middle and longitudinal suspension arms

To replace, old bushings are pressed out and new ones are pressed in. It is recommended to take the levers to a car repair shop to have the bushings replaced.
