1. The front camshaft oil seal can be replaced without removing the camshaft itself. To do this, do the following.
2. Remove the camshaft timing belt (see section 5).
3. Holding the camshaft with a wrench, unscrew the bolt securing the camshaft sprocket and remove the sprocket.
4. Punch or drill a small hole in the middle of the oil seal. Screw the self-tapping screw into the hole and, grasping it with pliers, pull out the oil seal.
5. Clean the oil seal seat with a wooden or plastic scraper. Lubricate the jaws of the new oil seal, install it with the jaws inside and drive it into place using a piece of pipe and a wooden hammer. Be careful not to damage the seal lips during installation: if a protective sleeve is supplied with the new seal, use it.
b. Reinstall the camshaft sprocket and tighten the bolt securing it to the required torque (see Specifications).
7. Reinstall and tension the camshaft timing belt (see section 5). If the belt becomes oily, it should be replaced.
