1. Unscrew the plug that closes the oil pressure regulator valve (immediately behind the crankshaft pulley) and pull out the spring and plunger.
2. Replace the spring if it is deformed or weakened (compare with a new spring if possible).
3. If the plunger is scratched, it should be replaced.
4. Clean the plunger hole and replace the plunger and spring. On 1.3 engines, replace the sealing washer under the plug.
