1. After disassembling the engine and thoroughly cleaning its parts, you should inspect them for wear. The connections and parts listed in the following sections require special attention and should be replaced or adjusted as necessary.
2. Very often measurements on engine parts must be made to the nearest tenths and thousandths of an inch, so we recommend checking the accuracy of your micrometer first.
3. If in doubt whether or not it is worth replacing a particular part, consider not only its cost, but also how much the repair will cost if this part fails during operation.
