Engine disassembly — general description (Opel Omega A)

The engine must be disassembled in a clean room.

It is advisable to have suitable containers for storing small parts, this will help when assembling the engine.

Clean all components thoroughly, dry and prepare for inspection. Internal passages are best blown out with compressed air.

Prepare complete gasket sets when removing the engine, and install them all.

If possible, screw nuts, bolts and washers back into place, this will protect the threads from damage and will also be useful when reassembling the engine.
