2. Make sure that the carbon brushes can move freely in their guides and do not get stuck anywhere.
3. Measure the length of the brushes. If they are so worn that their length is less than the maximum specified in the Specifications, they should be replaced.
4. Hold the brush wire with pliers and unsolder it from the brush box. Remove the two brushes.
5. Insert new brushes and make sure they can move freely in their guides. If they get stuck, lightly polish them using a fine file.
6. Solder the ends of the brush wires to the box, taking care not to get any solder on the wire itself.
7. When installing new brushes, be sure to also install new springs.
8. Reinstalling the brush box is done by performing the above steps in reverse order.
