Remove the vacuum pump with the terminals connected from the generator shaft.

The generator is supplied complete with a brush holder at the rear of the generator. For the Delco generator, first unscrew the rear cover.
Length of new brushes - 10 mm (A), wear limit - 5 mm (bOSCH generator).

Otherwise, unsolder and replace the brushes.
To prevent solder from coming out when soldering new brushes, squeeze the solder joint with pliers.
If there is a large amount of solder, the wire becomes brittle, making the brush unusable.
The cambric at the soldering point must be compressed into a loop.
After installing new brushes, check for ease of movement in the brush holder.
