6. Remove the voltage regulator (see above) and check the length of the brushes. The brushes must be replaced if they protrude from the brush holder by 5 mm or less, or the difference in brush length is more than 1 mm. If necessary, unsolder the wires and remove the worn brushes.

7. Check the contact rings for wear, grind and polish them if necessary - contact service station specialists.

8. Clean the contact surfaces and check the spring stiffness, replace if necessary.

9. Insert the new brushes with springs into the brush holder (see accompanying illustration) and solder the electrical wires.

Note: When soldering the brushes, you must hold the wires with pliers to avoid solder getting directly on the brushes, otherwise they will become hard and unusable.

10. Install the voltage regulator and secure it.

11. After installation, check the ease of movement of the brushes in the brush holder.

12. Further installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
