Windshield washer system (Opel Ascona C)

1. This system consists of a washer fluid reservoir that is attached to the pillar mount inside the engine compartment, an electrically driven pump and a wiper/washer switch located on the steering wheel column.

2. A faulty pump can be removed and replaced with a new one by rocking it and removing it from its hole in the tank. When installing a new pump, use a new rubber gasket.

3. A flexible rubber sleeve is used to connect the plastic tube to the pump, since directly pushing the plastic tube onto the pump nozzle may damage it.

4. The washer nozzles must be adjusted so that the jet of liquid falls on the windshield directly above the brushes ("wipers") the cleaner is in the "off" position. Use a thin pin to adjust the nozzles.
