The front and rear windscreen washers are supplied with water from a common reservoir, which is located in the engine compartment. Depending on the direction of rotation of the pump, water flows to either the windscreen or the rear window.
1. Check the pump. To do this, disconnect its connector, turn on the ignition and the windshield and rear window washer, and check for voltage at the pump connector. If there is voltage in both cases, but the pump did not work, replace the pump.
2. Remove the windshield fairing (see Chapter Body).
On vehicles with headlamp washers, the reservoir is not located under the windshield fairing, so the fairing does not need to be removed.
3. Loosen the fastening nut at the reservoir.
4. Disconnect the connector and disconnect the water hoses from the pump.
