The most common cause of damage to the tank is freezing of water in it during frosts. Since replacing the tank is a labor-intensive operation, start using a low-freezing liquid before frost sets in.
Sequence of execution
1. Prepare the car for work (see "Preparing the car for maintenance and repair").
2. Remove the left front fender liner (see "Front fender liner - removal and installation").
3. Disconnect the wiring harness connector and hoses from the washer pump (see "Windscreen Washer Pump - Replacement").
4. Remove the wire harness and hose from the holders on the tank body.
5. Using a 10 mm wrench, unscrew the three mounting nuts and remove the tank assembly with the electric pump (shown with front bumper removed).

6. If necessary, remove the washer electric pump (see "Windscreen Washer Pump - Replacement"),
7. Also, if necessary, remove the seal assembly with the mesh filter.

8. Install the parts in reverse order.
