Front windscreen wiper drive model Zafira — replacement (Opel Zafira A)

The necessity of performing this operation should be determined during the windscreen wiper check (see "Windscreen wiper - checking technical condition and diagnostics of faults"), The front wiper drive is supplied as a spare part only as an assembly.

Sequence of execution

1. Prepare the car for work (see "Preparing the car for maintenance and repair").

2. Open the hood and remove the protective covers from the left and right windshield wiper arms.



3. Using a 13 mm socket wrench, unscrew the nuts securing the left and right windshield wiper arms.



4. Remove the windshield wiper arms.



5. Using a 27 mm socket wrench, unscrew the nuts of the left and right wiper axles.





6. Disconnect the hoses from the injectors (see "Windscreen washer nozzles - adjustment and replacement") and remove the remaining part of the ventilation grille together with the nozzles.

7. Using a 10 mm wrench, unscrew the two nuts securing the removable panel of the engine shield on the left and similarly on the right.



8. Remove the engine shield panel.





9. Bend the retainer upwards and disconnect the wiring harness connector from the gearmotor.



10. Using an 8 mm socket wrench with an extension, unscrew the two bolts securing the trapezoid on the left and similarly on the right.



11. Using the same key, unscrew the two central bolts securing the trapezoid.





12. Using the same key, unscrew the three bolts securing the gear motor.




13. Remove the front windshield wiper drive assembly.

14. Install the parts in reverse order.
