1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.

2. Remove the glass panel as described in Section 49.

3. Remove the crank handle and its back plate.

4. Remove the interior light bulbs and handles. Loosen the door gaskets at their tops. Remove or loosen any interior trim panels that contact the headliner, then open the rear door and lift the headliner rearward, freeing it from the rear of the roof frame.

5. Disconnect the four drain hoses from the corners of the sunroof frame.

6. With the help of an assistant, unscrew the mounting screws of the hatch frame and remove the entire structure through the rear door.

7. Before installing in place, check the adjustment of the structure by turning the handle until it reaches the stop. In this position, the cable guide pin should be aligned with the notch on the roof guide (see Figure 11.79). If this is not the case, remove the crankshaft and adjust it as described above. Align the guide pin with the notch and install the crankshaft drive in place.

8. Install the structure on the roof - M6 screws should be replaced, but M5 screws can be reused. Reinstall the headliner, remove the interior panels, and then install and adjust the glass panel.
