Note: A description of the procedure for removing the fuel filter to replace the filter element is given in Chapter 1, Section 8.
1. The fuel filter of the diesel engine power system is attached to the rear bulkhead of the engine compartment using a special clamp. In some cases, after removing the filter, it may be necessary to dismantle the clamp.
2. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery (see chapter 5)
3. Disconnect the connectors (see resist. illustration) fuel filter wiring harness, carefully remove the fuel filter upwards from the mounting clamp and set aside.
9.3. clamp (7) fuel filter mounting (6) diesel models (on the example of the Z13DT engine) - the arrow indicates the location of the fuel temperature sensor: 1. Fuel heater wiring connector; 2. ECM wiring connector; 3. Fuel supply hose to the filter; 4. Fuel supply hose to the pump; 5. Fuel return hose
Note: The fuel lines do not need to be disconnected from the fuel filter.
4. On models equipped with Z13DT engines, remove the expansion tank and, without separating the cooling system hoses, take it aside.
5. Having unscrewed the fixing bolt (see resist. illustration), disconnect the fuel filter clamp from the holder on the bulkhead of the engine compartment.
9.5. Bolt (3) clamp fasteners (1) fuel filter to holder (2) (Z13DT engine)
Note: On engines with a displacement of 1.7 liters, the clamp is attached directly to the bulkhead of the engine compartment. To remove the clamp, unscrew the bolt and loosen the fixing nut (You don't need to fully unscrew the nut).
6. Installation is made in an order, the return to an order of removal.
