CORSA C models with drum brakes
Note: The function of the hub on these models is performed by the brake drum into which the wheel bearing is pressed.
1. Remove the drum brake (see chapter 9).
2. Remove the impulse sensor from the brake drum hub using the Opel-KM-161-B puller with detachable hooks KM-161-3 and the KM-161-4 tool (see resist. illustration).
10.2. Removing the pulse encoder (3) from the brake drum using the KM-161-B tool (with hooks KM-161-3) (1) and fixtures KM-161-4 (2)
3. Using special pliers, remove the wheel bearing retaining ring from the drum hub (see resist. illustration).
10.3. Retaining ring (1) wheel bearing
4. Press the wheel bearing out of the brake drum with a hydraulic press using the tool Opel-KM-500-5 (see resist. illustration).
10.4. Press the wheel bearing out of the brake drum using the KM-500-5 tool (2)
5. Before installing, clean the drum hub and lubricate with bearing grease.
6. Installation is made in an order, the return to an order of removal. To install a new wheel bearing, a special tool KM-273 is used (see illustration 10.6a), and for the pulse sensor - adaptation KM-6175 (see illustration 10.6b).

CORSA C models with disc brakes (release before 08/2003)
7. Remove the brake disc of the corresponding rear wheel (see chapter 9).
8. Disconnect the ABS wheel sensor harness connector (see resist. illustration) and separate the sensor wiring harness from the brake hose.
10.8. Connector (1) ABS wheel sensor wiring (Corsa From production to 8/2003): 2. Shock absorber lower bolt
9. Squeeze out the rubber bushing from the brake shield and pull out the ABS sensor wiring harness. Separate the brake hose holder from the guard.
10. Slightly raise the corresponding trailing arm of the rear suspension with a jack and remove the lower shock absorber mounting bolt (see illustration 10.8)
11. Turn out 4 fixing bolts (see resist. illustration) and remove the hub assembly from the trailing arm.
10.11. bolts (3) rear wheel hub mounting (Corsa From production to 8/2003)
12. Install the hub assembly and secure it with new bolts, hand-tight. Then tighten the bolts to the required torque in 3 steps (see specs). When installing the assembly, it must be given the exact position that it occupied before removal - a special template Hazet 6690 is used to check the position at service stations, for individual use you can cut out a template from thick cardboard. Have the wheel alignment checked by a workshop as soon as possible.
13. Further installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
Corsa C models with disc brakes (release since 09/2003)
14. Loosen but do not completely twist the hub nut (see chapter 8).
15. Remove the rear wheel brake disc (see chapter 9).
16. Fully loosen the hub nut and remove the hub assembly from the trunnion.
17. Installation is made in an order, the return to an order of removal. Before installing, clean the wheel trunnion and its threads. Lightly lubricate the trunnion and bearing inner race with special grease.
Corsa Combo models
18. Remove the brake drum and brake shoes (see chapter 9).
19. Disconnect the ABS sensor wiring connector, loosen 4 nuts (see resist. illustration) and remove the hub assembly from the trailing arm.
10.19. nuts (indicated by arrows) rear wheel hub mounting (Corsa Combo models): 1. Wiring connector
Note: The brake shield remains attached to the stringer.
20. Installation is made in an order, the return to an order of removal.
Meriva Models
21. The principle of removing / installing the hub assembly on these models is the same as on the Corsa Combo models, with the only difference that instead of the drum mechanism, it is necessary to remove the brake disc (see chapter 9).
