Examination
1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
2. Remove the air filter with the air intake sleeve.
3. Remove the PCV hose from the cylinder head and release the wiring harness from the holder on the intake manifold.
4. Turn out bolts of fastening and remove the inlet pipeline.

5. Remove the top cover of a gear belt.
6. Set the piston of the first cylinder to the TDC position (see chapter Engines).
7. Remove the fuel lines from the injectors and high-pressure fuel pump, for which give the union nuts.
Do not change the shape of the pipelines.
8. Turn out a stopper from the case of the distributor TNVD.

9. Screw in an adapter instead of a plug, for example, KM-226-a and an indicator with a measurement range of 0 ÷ 3 mm).
10. Using a screwdriver, remove the device for increasing the number of revolutions of a cold start of the engine from the working position.

11. Set the indicator to about 2 mm when the dipstick touches the pump piston.
12. Turn the crankshaft counterclockwise by about 60 degrees. so that the pump piston is at its lowest point. In this case, the indicator shows the smallest value and does not move any more. In this position, set the indicator to «0». Slightly rotating the crankshaft in different directions, check the adjustment. The indicator should not show a value less than 0 mm.
13. Turn the crankshaft clockwise until the TDC marks are aligned and take a reading on the indicator. Compare the indicator readings with the requirements of the Specifications in Chapter Power supply systems, release and reduction of toxicity of exhaust gases.
14. If the requirements of the Specifications in the Chapter Power supply systems, release and reduction of toxicity of exhaust gases are not achieved, adjust the injection pump.
Adjustment
1. Turn away nuts of fastening of TNVD and adjusting bolts on its holder.

2. Turn the injection pump so as to achieve the required Specifications in the Chapter Power supply systems, release and reduction of toxicity of exhaust gases adjustment value (average value from specified in Specifications Chapter Power supply systems, release and reduction of toxicity of exhaust gases range). If the value is too high, turn the pump towards the engine; at low - in the opposite direction.
3. Having finished the adjustment, tighten the bolts for fastening the high-pressure fuel pump to the cylinder head with a force 25 Nm, and fasteners of the injection pump holder - with a force 45 Nm.
4. Remove the indicator.
5. Tighten the center plug with a new copper o-ring to 20 Nm.
6. Remove the screwdriver from the cold starter.
7. Connect the fuel lines to the injectors and injection pump and tighten their union nuts with force 25 Nm.
8. Clear a scraper of a surface of the inlet pipeline and a head of cylinders of the sealant remains. Install a new gasket.
9. Further installation is carried out in the reverse order to the dismantling of the components. Tighten fasteners to the required torque.
